Upcoming Events 27.04.23. A4 posters still work.
It's beginning to look right royal. You seem to be loving our constantly updated events guide, so we'll keep at it. Drop us a note if you have an event.
The editor finds it very difficult to walk past a public noticeboard.
In these times when everyone thinks posting their news to a social media account will do the trick, the humble A4 paper poster on a noticeboard or in a window can get overlooked.
But posters still work! Sue knows that.
Email works too.
The editor has been obsessing about ‘reach’ and ‘impressions’ on the few social media accounts he uses for NSN. He had a little rant about it earlier:
“No matter how many people pay you the honour of following your account, the social media algorithms routinely only share your content with about 10% of your followers. That’s as true on LinkedIn as it is on all the other social media platforms. The majority of people who’ve expressed an interest in your news are not being served it, thanks to the whims of some tech giant’s secretive algorithm. That’s a blooming disgrace, isn’t it?!”
That’s why we love you email subscribers. Our email relationship is direct and transparent.
Thank you for welcoming NSN into your inbox, it’s great to have your interest.
And, a big welcome to today’s new subscribers too.
Jerome, the editor
ps - we can still be ‘social’, we love to hear from you, get in touch anytime, editor@northstaffs.news, phone snaps of A4 posters welcome…
