Inspirational exhibition Atlas to Recovery opens at B arts this Saturday
You know B arts, they’re the ace people that produce the lantern parades and other events we all love. They’re about to present an exhibition at their HQ in Stoke.
Atlas to Recovery explores themes of recovery from mental ill health. It’s been created by people with lived experience, working alongside local artists, and opens to the public on Saturday 1st April. Find it at 64-72 Hartshill Road, Stoke, ST4 7RB.
Susan Clarke, Artistic Director of B arts, said: “Atlas to Recovery is an exciting new piece of work that is exhibiting in our building in the first week of April. It is a fantastic opportunity for our artists to continue to put the lived experience of our participants at the centre of the work. Times are hard for us all and so we can all benefit from listening to people who continue to recover from trauma and stress every day. We are also very pleased to say that the project has been funded by Stoke-on-Trent City Council and the Paul Hamlyn Foundation.”
There’s a whole range of inviting activities and events planned for the week, including Open Mic nights, cafe, and bar.
Just in case you missed it…
In our latest PODCAST, the editor chats with Stoke-on-Trent indie author Jo Haywood about KNAVE, her second book.
Jo tells Jerome about her long-standing passion for writing fiction, hints at her fascination with all things paranormal, and she plugs Stoke Indoor Market - where she used to be employed as manager.
Jo has a book signing event at the indoor market on Saturday 1st April, 10am to 12pm.
