Keele University has secured funding to increase diversity in artificial intelligence and data science courses through a series of postgraduate scholarships.
A total of 24 scholarships worth £10,000 each are available for prospective students from under-represented and under-privileged demographics, which will support them to study on Keele’s MSc in AI and Data Science.

The new fund will provide grants to small community groups, supporting activities that benefit the natural environment. It’ll also help groups to promote healthy living.
They tell us most grants made will be to smaller, grassroots organisations, and will be around £500, although larger grants will be available for more wide-ranging projects.
Keele Sneyd Arms staff set off on Three Peaks Challenge
Kirsty, the landlady at the ace Sneyd Arms pub in Keele village, tells us that her staff are setting off on the Three Peaks Challenge this week. It’s their second charity fundraising hike.
This time the team’s fundraising for Circus Starr, “Our mission is to transform, enrich and inspire the lives of children and families who need it most across the UK, through the magical art of circus performance.”
They have quite trek ahead!
Considered one of Britain's toughest outdoor challenges, the National 3 Peaks Challenge takes in the dizzy heights of Ben Nevis (1,344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (1,085m). Over the course of two days, you will trek around 26 miles and ascend to a total height of almost 3,000m.
That’s considerably more than a walk up Keele bank after missing the No.25 bus.
